Fertility Support Therapy

What is Fertility Support Therapy?

Fertility Support Therapy is a deep pelvic organ visceral manipulation technique that decreases pelvic adhesions and organ restrictions, breaks down scar tissue, restores blood flow and circulation to the reproductive organs, increases mobility and brings these organs back to optimal natural function.

Recent studies indicate that many causes of infertility of unknown origin may be mechanical in nature. Fertility Support Therapy addresses these mechanical issues via hands on organ manipulation techniques. Just as one would receive massage to the neck or back to help loosen tightness in the muscles, we can lessen restrictions between organs, muscles, fascia and skin that may be preventing the reproductive organs from working optimally.

Anyone who has had an injury may develop tissue restrictions in any part of the body independent of where the injury was. If you've ever fallen on your tailbone, suffered whiplash or had the wind knocked out of you for example, you may have tissue restrictions deep inside. These tissue restrictions could be preventing you from being able to ovulate normally, prevent the egg from travelling through the Fallopian Tubes correctly, or have caused the uterus to be tilted one way or another that prevents normal function of the organ with the result being difficulty conceiving. By loosening restrictions and increasing blood flow to the organs, your pelvis is brought back to balance and Nature can do her thing.

What conditions can Fertility Support Therapy help?

Fertility Support Therapy can help treat infertility/low ovarian reserve/high FSH, endometriosis, PCOS, amenorrhea/dysmenorrhea, annovulation, sexual function, pelvic surgical scar tissue, bladder and GI issues, and pelvic or hip injuries.

How does the Fertility Support Therapy Program work?

The program is custom tailored to each individual woman's situation and will be discussed in further detail at a consultation.

During the consult, a full medical history will be obtained and a pelvic organ mobility evaluation will be done. I will also look at your overall body alignment which includes watching you move and breathe.

When scheduling your consult, please make sure bring any past medical records that may be helpful when discussing your history.

Our fertility program is 6 weeks in length and can be used as a stand alone regime or in preparation for a more medically assisted cycle such as IUI or IVF. We highly recommend that you prepare your body properly prior to starting any medically assisted fertility cycle to help insure a successful first cycle. Fertility Support Therapy can be completed in time for your stim start.

A stand alone cycle, without medical assistance, is what is most natural and primal for your body.

In addition to hands on work, you will be guided to monitor your own ovulatory cycle and receive education on supplements, self-care and movement techniques to support your body's natural healing abilities.

This is a comprehensive program designed to support your body's natural ability to heal and support new life. While hands on work is an important part of this program, the health of your nervous system is equally important.

Nervous system care includes addressing stress and stress management techniques, helping your body come out of sympathetic fight or flight states into deeply healing parasympathetic rest and digest states.

Your commitment to reducing stressors and working on your stress response is imperative to healing.

I only work with women who are 1000% committed to doing the work.

The hands on work I do is similar to Arvigo® Mayan Abdominal Massage, though I am not certified with them.

As a Specialty Bodywork, Fertility Support Therapy is offered with a minimum commitment of six (6) sessions.
