Abdominal Massage

Abdominal Massage has numerous health benefits including relaxation, improved digestive function and decreased menstrual symptoms. Trust me, there is absolutely nothing that is as profoundly relaxing as abdominal work!


Additionally, abdominal work can help with many issues that we just take for granted as women - cramps, constipation, bloating, pain with ovulation, heartburn, low back pain, pelvic pain...the list goes on.

Following c-sections or abdominal surgeries, you may develop pain, bowel, bladder or gynecological issue(s) due to abdominal adhesion formation. Abdominal adhesions are fibrous bands that can form between abdominal tissues and internal organs and/or the abdominal wall. "Internal organs have slippery surfaces that allow them to slide and glide against other organs and tissues. When adhesions are present, the tissues no longer glide and the internal organ’s motility is inhibited, organ function is affected, pain may result and larger movements of the body may be inhibited." Barbara Loomis

Abdominal Massage can also be used to help increase a woman's ability to conceive. Using techniques called deep gynovisceral manipulation (sounds scary, but it's not!), this hands on work can improve blood flow to the reproductive organs, help decrease any adhesions that may affect the positioning of the uterus, Fallopian tubes, cervix or ovaries and improve the neural mapping of our reproductive organs all of which increase the liklihood of proper ovulation and implantation. The work I do is similar to Arvigo® Mayan Abdominal Massage, though I am not certified with them.

What to Expect:

You will remain clothed, though I will request access to your abdomen. Yoga pants or stretchy pants and a tee shirt, tank top or sports bra works best. 



Is it safe to receive bodywork during the Covid-19 pandemic?

As a frontline healthcare worker, I have received my covid-19 vaccinations. Additionally, I adhere to all public health guidelines including wearing an N-95 mask, washing + sanitizing my hands frequently, and monitoring my temperature and health daily. I also work hard to keep myself healthy with nutrition, vitamins, exercise, fresh air and sunshine!

Who wants their stomach worked on?? It seems weird!

I get it! I hated having my stomach worked on until I had my stomach worked on!! It is so, so relaxing! And did you know that the neurotransmitters serotonin, dopamine and GABA are made in the gut? So, abdominal work can improve brain health!
