Pelvic Physical Therapy
Pelvic floor dysfunction is a disorder in the muscles and/or nerves of the pelvic floor, or in the surrounding skeletal structure. The pelvic floor muscles surround the urethra, rectum, vagina and prostate; therefore, if there is a dysfunction in these muscles it can result in urinary, bowel or sexual dysfunction in men, women and children.
Millions of Americans suffer from some type of pelvic floor problem, including incontinence, pain, erectile dysfunction and infertility. In fact, 1 in 5 will suffer from some type of pelvic dysfunction in their life time. And pelvic dysfunction is not just found in women who have had babies; nulliparous women and men can also suffer from pelvic dysfunction. If you suffer from any of the conditions listed, I want you to know that there is help!
