A 6 week whole body class designed to prepare your body for labor and delivery, prevent post-partum issues, manage current pain and relax
With over 19 years of experience and extensive training in women's health physical therapy, Kirstin is excited to be offering this pre-natal movement class in New London! Drawing on her trainings in Nutritious Movement™ Restorative Exercise, yoga and Yoga Tune Up®, Kirstin has designed a class to lengthen and relax the muscles of the pelvic floor, pelvis and abdomen, strengthen the hips and back, improve breathing and help you relax and optimize baby's position. Please note, this is not a pre-natal yoga class. While we may draw from some yogic traditions, Mama Moves is based on the usual alignment, pain and baby positioning issues Kirstin sees most often in pregnant clients and the exercises are designed to lengthen what's tight and strengthen what's weak, connect with the deep core and pelvic floor muscles and learn how to relax these muscles. Pre-natal yoga is a lovely practice, but should not be used exclusively during pregnancy as the focus tends to only be on opening the hips and does not address strength, baby position, deep core muscles, pelvic floor muscle strength and yield and daily movement habits.
This class is open to all mamas-to-be at any point in their pregnancy who have been cleared to exercise by their physician. While all the exercises are safe for the pregnant body, it is your responsibility to monitor YOUR body's response and notify Kirstin of any issues. Modifications can always be made!
It is never too late to start moving! If you are due within the 6 weeks, contact Kirstin and she can offer a pro-rated plan or you may use the classes for any postpartum classes Kirstin will be teaching in the future. The same applies if baby comes sooner than anticipated.

Minimum class size is 4. If you register and we don't receive the minimum, you will be refunded in full within 14 days of cancellation of the class. See refund policy below. Registration includes equipment.

*The minimum class size required for this class series to be held is 4. If we don't receive 4 registrations, the class will be cancelled and you will be refunded in full within 14 days.
*If you register and need to cancel for medical reasons, a full refund, minus classes already attended and a $10 cancellation fee will be refunded to you within 14 days. (I use the honor system regarding medical cancellations.)
*If you become ill during the series and miss a class, you are welcome to make that class up in a future class.
*No other refunds will be issued.
